The Finished Ordination Stole for a Deacon

Finished the stole today once I got my printer issues solved....I like to print a custom label on fabric for the lining, and yay!  managed to troubleshoot it satisfactorily.  Here are the images of the finished stole which is now ready to ship...

Front

Side, showing the three pieces of cording holding the two pieces together.

Back

Upper front, detail.

Lower pieces

Cross stitched "United Methodist" symbol--this is a pocket in the lining.
I won't show the label because it identifies the new deacon by name and location;  this is a surprise for her ordination in June.

  1. Your work is spectacular! I’d love to learn more about your process! I’m also making a Deacon stole for someone being ordained in June I really like how you did the cording on the side. I know many use a chain and I’m having a hard time knowing what would be best. I love that you used neckties for your fabric. Again, beautiful work! Wishing you all the Best!

  2. Thanks! I'm happy to share my process with you. The linkage between the two halves is three or two short pieces of bias tubing. I do have a Facebook page that is more current. I have discontinued my website however the domain name redirects to the FB page. Www.janetarmstrong.com Send me an email to jarmstrongnow(at)shaw.ca substituting an @ sign for the (at) of course.
